GENERAL INFORMATION

Registration Desk
The Registration Desk will be open from 08:30 to 17:00, from September 3, 2005 till the end of the meeting.

Certificate of Attendance and Invoices
A Certificate of Attendance with your name will be prepared and available in your conference kit. Similarly, invoices for the conference registration fee and for any other activity (gala dinner, accommodation etc.) will be readied.

Official Letter of Invitation
An official letter of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be sent upon request. It must be clearly understood that such letters do not cover any fees or other financial support. If you require an official invitation please send an e-mail to dutagach@boun.edu.tr .

Conference Materials and Badges
Please bring your official confirmation receipt to the Registration Desk to receive your bag with your badge and related materials. Admission to all meeting events requires presentation of the badges. If you lose your badge please apply for a new one at the Registration Desk. Admission to lunches and conference tour will be on the basis of the tickets provided in your registration kit.

Climate
In September the weather is usually very pleasant in Antalya . The average high is between 22-26 0 C and the average low is 12-14 0 C and average seawater temperature is around 20 0 C. Congress Venue and Hotels is air-conditioned.

Exhibition
An exhibition area for companies and books will be located near Main Hall. Morning and afternoon coffees will be served in the exhibition and poster areas.

Travel
By Bus: Antalya is easily accessed from most parts of the country, and the bus terminal (Yeni Garaj) is 4km north of the city centre. Major routes include Istanbul (9 hours), Izmir (9 hours) and Ankara (7 hours). There are also very frequent shuttle services to nearby resort areas from Tel: (0242) 331 12 50 / 513 26 50.

By Air: Antalya airport is 10 km east of the city centre, and has direct flights from Tel Aviv and Zurich, and frequent charter flights from major European centers. It has also eight direct flights from Istanbul . There are regular bus services from the airport to the city center and there will be special conference shuttles on September 3 to 5. Insurances
The congress fee does not include insurance. All participants should arrange for their own insurance in their country of origin.

Driving License
Most international driver's licenses are recognized in Turkey . Car rental companies require for a valid national or international license. Remember to keep to the right-hand side of the road and wear your seat belt at all times.

Time Zone
Turkish Time is two hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT +2)

Currency
The Turkish Republic Monetary Unit was changed from Turkish Lira (TL) to New Turkish Lira (YTL) which 1 YTL = 1.000.000 TL. Both will be in circulation till the end of 2005. Exchange rates for foreign money are determined by The Central Bank of Turkey ( www.tcmb.gov.tr ) daily and announced in the newspapers. Convertible foreign money can be exchanged at the Airports, Banks, Hotels and Exchange Offices with a small commission (about 2%). All major credit cards (Visa, Master, Eurocard and American Express) are accepted in most hotels and shops.

Business Hours
Official business hours are 09:00 to 12:00 and 13:30 to 17:00 Monday through Friday. Banks and Post Offices are close on Saturday and Sunday. Shops are open 09:00 – 20:00, some even later and/or on weekends.

Visas
All foreign visitors should carry a valid passport while in Turkey . Citizens from some countries may require a visa to enter Turkey . This can be issued at the Turkish consulates in their home country or can be obtained at the airport on arrival to Turkey .
